ASDOH & MWU AGD Student Chapters host bi-annual Student Conference

The AGD student chapters at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and Midwestern University College of Dentistry came together on Sat. Jan. 28 for their bi-annual CE conference.
Instead of sleeping in on a Saturday morning, over 30 students woke up early on a Saturday morning to learn and gain knowledge and skills.
Dr. Mark Malterud traveled from Minnesota to speak to the students about "Becoming a Super Generalist". He shared how his experience with AGD and quality CE has allowed him to provide more services to his patients! Ms. Allison Williams-Collier shared advice on the importance of patient communication. She discussed strategies on creating a meaningful patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Mai-Ly Duong facilitated an active discussion on the important role that clinical chart notes play in the provision of dental treatment. She discussed the specific components of a dental clinical note and legal obligations a dentist has in regards to record keeping. Dr. Michael Johnson demonstrated the unique role that photography plays in treatment planning of patient cases.
It was definitely a weekend you didn't want to miss!
The students' next conference will be Saturday, April 22. If you'd like to support the students by volunteering your time to lecture about a dental topic you're passionate about, please email us arizonaagd14@gmail.com.
Both schools are also raising funds to cover travel and lodging of students to attend the 2017 AGD Annual Session in Las Vegas on July 15-17. They will be hosting Mugs & Morals CE course on Friday, March 3 - this course meets BODEX standards. Please consider joining us for this course and supporting the students.
